To have success with a whiplash injury it's important to work with a provider that understands the problem. Our integrated team has experience with these types of injuries, so if you have recently been injured it's important to get your spine checked as soon as possible. The sooner that you start care the less chance you have of developing long term problems.
Athletes have been benefiting from Chiropractic care for many years; however, it has only recently been receiving attention from the media.
Sprains and strains are common injuries that share similar signs and symptoms, but involve different parts of your body.
A sprain is a stretching or tearing of ligaments — the tough bands of fibrous tissue that connect two bones together in your joints. The most common location for a sprain is in your ankle.
A strain is a stretching or tearing of muscle or tendon. A tendon is a fibrous cord of tissue that connects muscles to bones. Strains often occur in the lower back and in the hamstring muscle in the back of your thigh.
According to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), most general industry incidents involve slips, trips, and falls. They cause 15% of all accidental deaths, and are second only to motor vehicles as a cause of fatalities. The OSHA standards for walking/working surfaces apply to all permanent places of employment, except where only domestic, mining, or agricultural work is performed.
As your surgery nears, getting through the operation itself is probably all that's on your mind. But once you've successfully cleared that hurdle, you may find that the real work is about to begin. No matter how much of a miracle worker your surgeon is, that skillful work can be undone without proper post-surgical rehabilitation.
